iQ HealthTech are delighted to announce that Mid Cheshire NHS Foundation Trust have completed their iQemo training and are on schedule as planned to go live with the iQemo electronic SACT prescribing and drug administration system at the end of June 2020.

The Trust has transitioned from a windows desktop based system to a modern web-based solution that now manages the entire SACT prescribing and drug administration process for both solid tumour and haematology patients. iQemo has helped to further enhance patient safety at the Trust by providing a completely electronic end-to-end system that fully captures the electronic drug administration record, providing transparency and strong governance for SACT prescribing across the hospital.

In addition to the patient safety and efficiency benefits the new system also enables the Trust to capture and report data for the Public Health England SACT v3.0 dataset. Furthermore, new iQemo functionality enables the team at Leighton Hospital to schedule and treat patients who are either under the care of the Trust or under the care of The Christie NHS Foundation Trust with just one user account, diary and treatment list, thus increasing effectiveness and efficiency and ultimately patient safety.

The iQemo project at Leighton Hospital started at the beginning of 2020 and will go-live as planned at the end of June, on time and within budget even amidst the challenges Covid-19 has presented. This has been achieved through innovative working methods and the effective use of remote working technology.

Feedback from the team so far has been immensely positive. Kate Skinner, Lead Cancer Nurse for Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust added…

"To utilise iQemo for all SACT here in Mid Cheshire is going to transform the way we deliver cancer treatments for our local population. iQemo allows us to work effortlessly with our partners in The Christie NHS Foundation Trust and all our cancer clinicians by providing safe and efficient communication between all professionals. The flexibility to be able to access the system remotely allows us to provide continuous patient centred care. It has been a privilege to work with the iQ HealthTech team and I would like to thank them for their support and guidance with all elements of the project."
